POLICE BLOTTER: Police respond to disorderly subjects complaint, find teens fighting

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.

• Police received a disorderly subject complaint at 9:45 a.m. on the 200 block of North Michigan Avenue. Officers were called to two males fighting near Michigan Avenue and Pine Street. Officers located a 16-year-old and 18-year-old male, who both admitted to fighting. Neither wished to pursue criminal charges against the other.

• A vehicle accident occurred at 10:48 a.m. on Elm Street near State Street.

• At 11:23 a.m., police assisted EMS on the 800 block of Sheridan Street. Officers stood by due to a disorderly patient. No action was taken on scene.

• Police received a complaint of suspicious activity at 2:40 p.m. on the 100 block of South Bronson Avenue. A relative called about a vehicle in the driveway of the residence. It was an insurance agent looking at the home.

• A vehicle accident occurred at 3:04 p.m. on Perry Avenue near Water Tower Road.

• At 3:30 p.m., an officer assisted the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office by contacting a worker at Catholic Charities in relation to a personal injury accident that occurred in the county.

• Officers received a report of a hit-and-run on State Street near Perry Avenue. It was determined a car bumped into a pedestrian, who said she was fine and the driver left. There was no damage and no injuries. The case is closed.

• A complaint of suspicious activity complaint on the 100 block of South Bronson Avenue led to a 29-year-old man being arrested on a warrant.
