POLICE BLOTTER: Police called for bullying complaint

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Tuesday and Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.


• Police received a trespassing complaint on the 100 block of West Grand Traverse Street.

• Officer handled a threats complaint.

• Police assisted a resident at 7:32 p.m. on the 100 block of Maple Street. Officers dealt with phone solicitors/scammers who were saying the complainant won a sweepstakes.

• Officers received a juvenile complaint at 9:26 p.m. on the 600 block of Escott Street. A young student was being picked on by a family of kids. A 5th-grader wrote on his forehead. The matter under investigation.


• Police were called at 1 a.m. to the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue for a loud noise. An officer was right down the street when the complaint came in and no noise was heard until the door opened. Police advised staff to turn the music down.

• Officers were called at 2 a.m. regarding an argument between a male and female on the 100 block of Pemberton Avenue. The argument ensued after a barrage of text messages.
