Morley Stanwood 58, Beal City 43

BEAL CITY — Carson Brauher scored 12 points to lead Morley Stanwood past Beal City in nonleague action on Tuesday.

Landon Elenbaas had 10 points, Callen Dirree eight and Zach VanderPloeg had eight points and six rebounds for the Mohawks (14-2), who trailed 31-26 at halftime.

The Mohawks are home Friday against Kent City.

Baldwin 77, Lake City 66

LAKE CITY — Zach Lovett scored 18 points and Blake Dockery added 15 for Baldwin (9-5) in Tuesday’s nonleague win over Lake City. Baldwin led 41-37 at halftime.

Reed City 72, Tri County 38

HOWARD CITY — Cody Kailing tallied 18 points to lead the Coyotes, who led 36-17 at halftime.

Anthony Pelton had 11 points and Carsten Koopman added 11.

Reed City (9-7, 7-4) is at Chippewa Hills on Friday.

Pine River 48, Roscommon 46

ROSCOMMON — Trenton Holmes nailed a free-throw in the closing seconds as the Bucks held on for the road win.

Elijah Lewis led the Bucks with 18 points and Holmes had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Lane Rupert had five rebounds and five assists.

“We played poorly on offense in first half,” head coach Brian Goodenow said. “We didn’t take our first lead until we went up 42-41 in the fourth.”

Pine River (3-11, 1-8) hosts McBain NMC on Thursday.

Grant 71, Chippewa Hills 52

GRANT — Cade Schafer led the Warriors in scoring with 15 points and Jack Frebes scored 14, while Mitch Kuzma added 12.

Chippewa Hills (5-11, 3-8) hosts Reed City at 7:30 p.m. Friday.


Big Rapids 55, Newaygo 34

BIG RAPIDS — The Cardinals led 29-12 at halftime and never looked back.

Jayla Strickland led all scorers with 21 points and added 14 rebounds.  Kaitlyn Ray stuffed the state sheet with eight points, 12 rebounds, six assists and four steals while Savannah Seath added 10 points.

“It was nice,” head coach Jessica Haist said. “We were able to take control early and everyone was able to get minutes.

Big Rapids (16-1, 10-1)  hosts undefeated Central Montcalm (17-0, 11-0) on Friday.
