POLICE BLOTTER: Generator stolen from South Bronson Avenue

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Thursday. All calls might not be reported.


• Police performed an area check on the 500 block of South Michigan Avenue.

• A car title was found at Swede Hill Park. It was returned to the owner.

• A generator was reported stolen on the 100 block of South Bronson Avenue.

• A hit-and-run accident was reported on Maple Street near Third Avenue. The suspect vehicle is possibly a white delivery truck. The accident left minor scratches on the bumper of a green Volkswagen Beetle.

• Police performed an area check at 5:45 p.m. on the 300 block of Rust Avenue for a report of a male drinking in a vehicle. The subject was waiting for his son to return home. There was no sign he was drinking in the vehicle.

• Officers were dispatched at 7:31 p.m. to a reported domestic assault on the 1800 block of Milton Avenue. Police found no assault occurred. A father and son were home alone, upset, yelling and throwing stuff around the apartment.

• Police received a complaint of suspicious activity at 7:45 p.m. on the 200 block of Maple Street. The caller found a vehicle with an open door in the parking lot on the 100 block of North Warren Avenue. Officers attempted to contact residents a couple of times with no luck. Nothing appeared to have been disturbed in the vehicle.

• A vehicle accident occurred at 7:58 p.m. on Perry Avenue near Division Street. The at-fault driver was cited for failure to yield.
