Evart junior getting job done in three different events

Richard Foster

EVART — Richard Foster has been scoring a lot of points for Evart’s track team this season and is looking to score plenty more before the season ends.

Foster, a junior, has been scoring points in the hurdles, high jump and pole vault for Evart. He clocked the 110 hurdles in 18.12 seconds at a recent home meet for a personal record. His season’s best in the high jump is 5-4. His PR in the 300 hurdles is 46.38. In the pole vault, he had a personal record of 11-6 in a Highland Conference dual.

He’s been improving each season.

In the hurdles and pole vault, Foster has been the leader for the Wildcats, but Zolan Long has been providing plenty of support.

He’s been expecting McBain to also be strong in the hurdles.

Going into the season, Foster was confident of Evart’s chances.

“I think we can win conference and regionals,” he said.

The Highland Conference might be out of reach although Evart is hosting the league meet on Tuesday, May 22. The regionals are on Saturday at East Jordan and Foster will hope to qualify in this event for the state meet.
