Artists describe their techniques in creating ArtPrize piece

Ann Loveless discusses her portion of the “Northwood Awakening” piece, that was entered into ArtPrize 2015 and currently hangs in Artworks’ Painted Turtle Gallery, during a reception on Thursday. Loveless and her husband, Steve, spent more than 1,000 hours creating the piece, which flows from approximately 40 merged photographs to roughly 37,000 squares of batik and printed fabrics. The couple’s works will continue to hang at Artworks through July 28. (Pioneer photo/Meghan Gunther-Haas)
