REMUS — Hannah Todd will keep running this summer, and not just for the sake of running.

Shortly after her senior track season ended at Chippewa Hills, Todd announced she would be doing more at Ferris State than taking academics. She’ll be running with Ferris State’s women’s track and field team.

In her final year at Chippewa Hills, Todd played a key role in the team’s 16th straight Central State Activities Association Gold Division title and second straight Division 3 regional championship.

Todd had a personal record of 59.41 in the 400 meters and was first in regionals and sixth at the state meet. She and her teammates were regional champs and third in the 4×400 relay at the state finals.

Todd said early in the track season she would be attending Ferris but had no plans at that time to do sports. The day after the high school track finals, she changed her mind.

“The coaches have been watching me and called me the Sunday after the state meet,” Todd said. “They watched me before. They found out through my (high school) coach I was coming to Ferris. I was leaning toward it a little bit.”

Todd indicated she’ll be running the 400 at Ferris.

“I’ll keep up on my miles over the summer,” she said.
