Fair fun begins

Dozens of 4-H’ers are bringing their animals to the fairgrounds for a week of showmanship and fun. Judging for the 2018 Mecosta County Agricultural Free Fair kicked off Sunday morning with weigh-ins and check-ins for swine, steers, goats, sheep, poultry and rabbits.

4-H’ers had fun getting squealing pigs on the scale during the swine weigh-in.

Shows, judging, contests and other activities continue throughout the week — a fun time for animal lovers and farmers of all ages. (Pioneer photos/Shanna Avery)
