REED CITY — Seth Phelps recently finished a strong sports career at Reed City in soccer and boys golf.

But now he’s focusing on a collegiate soccer career at Spring Arbor.

“I decided to attend Spring Arbor last fall around November,” he said. “I signed with them this spring. I approached them about playing soccer. I had a tryout and they decided to sign me up.”

Indications were he’d be playing midfield at Spring Arbor, which was the position he played at Reed City.

Phelps played four years of varsity soccer at Reed City.

“I was able to help out the younger generation and build the team to where it is today,” Phelps said.

His best season was as a junior when he had six goals. As a season he had to overcome various injuries.

“But I’m healthy and feeling better,” he said.

Phelps was the No. 2 golfer for Reed City in the spring.

But now he’s focusing on Spring Arbor soccer.

“I’m looking forward to making a new team and having a new experience and seeing where it goes,” Phelps said.
