Cross country teams shine in Saturday meets


FREMONT — Crossroads Charter Academy competed in the Hill and Bale Invitational on Saturday at Fremont.

The boys did not have a team score.

Dan Hills was 43rd (24:38.9), Jordan Wahl 49th (26:02.0) and Casey Gabalis 63rd (37:11.0)

The CCA girls also ran but did not have a full team.

Jaylen Schroeder was fourth (22;52.7), Emily Chitwood 10th (24:12.4), Leah Davis 34th (27:28.20) and Courtney Hudson 48th (32.58.5).

Morley Stanwood

STANTON — The Mohawks competed at the Central Montcalm Invitational on Saturday and competed in various grade divisions. Aiden McLaughlin won the junior grade level race in 17:06.10. Owen Devereaux was 26th (22:21.50). Josh McNeil was 17th (19:56.18) in the sophomore level. For freshmen, John May was 19th (21:17.62).

For the girls, Dreea Atchison (21:05.92) was in the sophomore race and took second (21:05.02). Aivery Devereaux was 51st overall (3:32.59) and 10th among sophomores. Delaney McLaughlin (25:14.41) was 16th among 10th graders.

Freshman Alaylah Atchison was 67th overall (28:13.28) and 24th in her grade division.


MARION — Evart competed in the Marion Steeplechase on Saturday.

For the boys, in the 5,000-meter varsity race, Austin Hamilton was first (18:00.14), Nathan Woods second (18:22.17), Tanner Ryan sixth (20:45.01), Richard Foster seventh (20:54.60) and Kinkade Dubreuil eighth (21:36.09).

For the Evart girls, Sophia Scott was second (25:53.33). Laina Payne third (28:13.92) and Hannah Wetters fourth (31:3i.35).

Pine River

BUCKLEY — Pine River competed in the Bear Country Invitational at Buckley on Saturday.

Pine River took third with a 72 in the boys division. Phil Rigling was fifth (18:33.60) Jayce Methner sixth (18:39.0), Kaden Darrow 18th (19:40), Cole Hill 22nd (19:53) and Landyn Cool 31st (20:21).

The girls were fifth. Kelsi Charles (23:20) was 15th, Becca Horan 17th (23:26), Payton Fulmerhouser (25:05) 30th, Dallas Snider 38th (26:49) and Grace Beebe 46th (27:57).
