Crossroads left forward looking to keep his scoring touch

Dawson Soller

BIG RAPIDS — Crossroads Charter Academy’s boys soccer team has been struggling for wins this season. but enjoyed a strong 8-0 effort a week ago against Pine River.

Playing a key role for the Cougars in this game, not to mention throughout the season, has been Dawson Soller, who has been among the top goal scorers in his junior season.

“I thought we played pretty good (against Pine River),” he said. “We started playing well as a team. The forwards are piecing pieces together. Me and (Tyler) Omo are working together.”

Soller is a left forward and it’s where he played last season.

He has more than 30 career goals and had five after the Pine River game. Scoring is obviously his main role.

“The key is coming here to practice weekends, day and night watching soccer, physically living it,” Soller said. “We just have to keep playing together and keep our heads in the game and not play down to other teams.”

The Cougars play home next Tuesday against Roscommon and Thursday against Clare.
