Open Arms Child Advocacy Center launches

The Open Arms Child Advocacy Center officially opened its doors at 1805 Milton Ave., Building 130, in Big Rapids on Wednesday. The center is a partnership between a broad range of stakeholders in Mecosta, Osceola, Lake and Newaygo counties; including prosecuting attorneys, law enforcement officials, the Department of Health and Human Services, Ferris State University, Central Michigan Community Health, Women’s Information Services (WISE), the Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District, the Big Rapids Housing Commission and MichiganWorks! The center offers a space for children and their families who were victims or witnesses to crimes to be interviewed and if needed, receive support. Pictured is the executive board of Open Arms.
