Warriors’ Sydney Wright having strong senior season

REMUS — Chippewa Hills’ volleyball team lost 3-0 to Big Rapids on Wednesday, but coach Hali Williams and Sydney Wright see progress being made on the Warriors’ side.

Wright is a senior outside hitter for the Warriors.

It’s always been her position and it’s her second year on the varsity. She spent last winter on a travel volleyball team.

“I’m hitting it harder and am more consistent,” she said. “I have a better aim.”

As a hitter, “I have a pretty hard hit,” Wright said.

Coming up for the Warriors are home matches on Tuesday next week at Fremont in Central State Activities Association Gold Division action and at Montabella on Thursday in nonleague play.

“We get along better and understand each other more,” Wright said. “We want a winning record. Confidence (is the key). We’re well-rounded in all areas.”
