BIG RAPIDS — “Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal,” according to Brandi Fattore, who began working at Big Rapids High School this year.

Fattore previously taught special education at Crossroads Charter Academy, but has been a Big Rapids Public Schools Cardinal since she graduated from BRHS. Fattore then attended Ferris State University to earn a bachelors degree in elementary education, and returned to the university for her masters in special education.

“I loved my time at Crossroads,” Fattore said, noting the relationships she has built with CCA staff will last a lifetime. “But, this is my home. The kids are awesome and the staff is super supportive and friendly. It’s been really fun.”

This year, Fattore is co-teaching two classes, Algebra I and Algebra II, and said she enjoys the camaraderie of the special education team at BRHS.

“My area of specialty has really been the transition period of preparing students for life after high school,” Fattore noted.

When not flipping through the textbooks, Fattore enjoys reading, crafting, spending time with her friends and family and cheering on the FSU Bulldogs with her husband and three kids.
