POLICE BLOTTER: Vehicle hits two deer on Perry Avenue

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Monday. All calls might not be reported.

• Officers performed school traffic detail at 7:26 a.m.

• Police assisted Mecosta County EMS at 11:14 a.m. on the 100 block of Maple Street.

• At 11:38 a.m., officers assisted another department on the 700 block of Oak Street.

• A traffic crash occurred at 3:29 p.m. on Elm and State streets.

• A be-on-the-lookout was issued at 9:10 p.m. on Ives Avenue. A woman left her Alcoholics Anonymous meeting on Damascus Road and was possibly intoxicated. Her vehicle was later located, unoccupied on the 200 block of North Third Avenue.

• At 10:29 p.m, officers were dispatched to State Street and Perry Avenue for a vehicle hitting two deer. The driver did not want to report the crash and did not stick around. One deer was dead when officers arrived and the other deer had to be dispatched. The Department of Public Works was advised.
