EVART — Donavin Reagan has gotten off to a good start for Evart’s boys basketball team.

Reagan had 30 points in his team’s 77-58 win over Forest Area to open the season.

Evart is 1-2 and plays at Pine River Friday night.

It’s his junior season and Reagan started with last season’s team.

“It went very well,” he said. “I played very well for moving up in my sophomore year. I was out there to handle the ball and put some shots up.”

The Wildcats are obviously looking for Reagan to produce on both ends of the court. He’s a solid rebounder and scorer.

“Quickness and shooting could be strengths for the Wildcats, Reagan said. The team is trying to improve from a three-win season last year. Evart is 1-2 going into action tonight.

“We’re running a lot more,” Reagan said. “We want to win a lot more games than last year. We need to keep the ball in our hands.”
