HERSEY — Santa’s workshop will be open this weekend for community members to get into the holiday spirit.

The Hersey Small Town Community Christmas Party, with the theme “Santa’s Workshop,” is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Hersey Congregational Church on Main Street.

Village President Robin Marvel said the event will include arts and crafts for kids, games, food and sweet treats and Kris Kringle himself will be in attendance to take pictures with guests.

“It’s a really great experience for the community and for kids to get out and enjoy some holiday activities,” Marvel said.

She added children also will be able to take home Christmas ornaments they can decorate themselves, as well as a small gift bag filled with goodies.

Marvel said everyone is invited to the event, including those who are not Hersey residents, and noted she hopes people from all over feel welcome.

Even families’ furry friends can get in on the holiday fun this year, as pets are invited to come to the church at 12:30 p.m. to take pictures with Santa as well.

Marvel added pets are welcome to stay past 1 p.m., but it helps the day run smoother to take these pictures before the rest of the party begins.

“This is a time for everybody to get together and get in the Christmas spirit,” she said.

Marvel said the event would not be possible without the help of the Hersey Congregational Church and the many sponsors throughout the community.
