Wildcats counting heavily on Ladd’s talents

Kaylee Ladd

EVART — Kaylee Ladd is being counted upon to give the Evart Wildcats girls basketball team key contributions during the 2018-19 season.

It’s her junior season and her third varsity year,

“It hasn’t gone that well in the past,” Ladd said. “But we should be stronger this year.”

Ladd is a shooting guard this season and sometimes sees action as a point guard. Shooting is her strength, especially in free-throw shooting. Her best shooting percentage from the stripe is 72 percent. In that respect, she doesn’t mind going to the line as often as possible.

“Being quick on defense,” is also a strength, Ladd said.

“We’re definitely young but I think we have a lot of speed and we’ll be OK,” she said. “We need to push the ball for those fast breaks.”

The Wildcats are at Chippewa Hills on Tuesday.
