Reed City edges Chippewa Hills to lead girls basketball roundup

REED CITY — The Coyotes eked out a win over the Warriors of Chippewa Hills on Tuesday.

Kamryn Myers led the way with 13 points and Taylor Harrison had nine while Alison Duddles added seven. Haley Mercer had nine points and Izzy Gutierrez tallied eight points for the Warriors.

Reed City led 23-17 at halftime and outrebounded Chippewa Hills 41-29.

“We started the game strong,” head coach Brian Koopman said. “We missed some easy shots but we made free throws when we had to.”

Reed City (2-5, 1-3) hosts Big Rapids on Friday.

Central Montcalm 67, Big Rapids 25

STANTON — The Cardinals had tough sledding against the Hornets, to the tune of a 42-point loss.

Central Montcalm led 40-12 at half. Holly McKenna led Big Rapids with seven points.

The Cardinals (2-5, 0-4) will face Reed City (2-5, 1-3) on Friday.
