CADILLAC — Thousands of outdoor fans and their families will join vendors and businesses from across the US and Canada this January in Wexford County. Hosted by the popular Wilderness Journal Television Show, this annual event features outfitters, guides and companies from as far away as Colorado, Missouri and Ontario, as well as local booths and displays.

The Wilderness Journal Outdoor Expo will be Jan. 19-20 at the Wexford Civic Center in Cadillac.

The Wilderness Journal TV host is Paris area resident Kyle Randall.

“We are very excited about the wide variety of booths joining us for this year’s Expo,” said Erica Lilly, who coordinates the event. “Not only will we have boats, campers, blinds, docks, tractors and numerous hunting and fishing outfitters there, but we are also welcoming some brand new exhibitors and groups. Non-profit groups hosting booths this year include Mid-Michigan Honor Flight, Marupa United Network, and the local youth-led CMS Bass Fishing Tournament.”

With samples, outdoor living, taxidermy, custom clothing and even an indoor youth BB gun shoot, the entire family can take a break from the cold and head indoors the weekend of Jan. 19-20. Recent changes to Michigan baiting laws have also inspired the featured Expo seminar “Alternative Hunting Methods” featuring Kyle Randall, Rich Smallegan of Ina Store, Ty McComb of Whitetail Outfitters of Ohio, and Rob Draves of Draves Whitetail Mineral Co.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The seminar is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. Entry fee is$7 adults, kids 12 & under are always free. Expo information can be found on the event website: www.elmandp.com/page13/page18/index.html.
