Two parole absconders arrested

BIG RAPIDS — The Big Rapids Department of Public Safety assisted in arresting two parole absconders on Saturday morning.

David Lee Hayes, 24, of Port Huron, and Antonio Jones, 24, of Big Rapids, who were wanted in questioning as person of interest in a shooting of an unoccupied residence in the City of Big Rapids on Feb. 1, were arrested in Mount Pleasant, for absconding warrants through Michigan Department of Corrections.

BRDPS will continue to be assisted in the investigation by the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, Central Michigan Enforcement Team, BAYANAT, Mount Pleasant Department of Public Safety, Isabella County Sheriff’s Office and MDOC.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact BRDPS at (231) 527-0005.
