Angels of Action hosts Valentine’s Day fundraiser

BIG RAPIDS — People have the chance to spread a little love and care this Valentine’s Day by participating in an Angels of Action fundraiser to fight childhood hunger.

The nonprofit organization is running a virtual fundraiser until Thursday, Feb. 14, which allows people to send an electronic Valentine’s Day card to anyone they wish. The cost of the electronic card will be donated to the Angels of Action Backpack Program, which provides weekend food and other supplies to children in Mecosta County.

To participate in the fundraiser, people can visit or the Angels of Action Facebook page, where people will be asked to donate $5 to the organization.

Once a person has donated, they can send an email to and provide the email of the person to receive the Valentine’s Day card, their name and the number which corresponds with one of ten electronic cards available on the website.

Volunteers will customize the Valentine and send it on Thursday.
