POLICE BLOTTER: Friends make up after argument in parking lot

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All calls might not be reported.

Friday

• Officers responded to North Warren Avenue for a larceny of money complaint. The suspect has been identified as a 45-year-old man. The incident is under investigation.

• Police were at the 900 block of Olaf Street to be standby for Child Protective Services.

• Police responded to the Spectrum Health emergency room for a mental health subject who was making disturbing comments.

• Officers performed an area check for a woman seeming disoriented. They were unable to make contact with the woman after she entered her home, in the 100 block of West Bridge Street.

• A woman called police to report someone backed into her vehicle, which was parked in the 200 block of West Spruce Street. Due to a trailer hitch, there was no damage to the vehicle.

• Officers responded to the 800 block of Country Way in response to a report of a woman slamming her door multiple times. Police were unable to make contact with the woman. The incident is under investigation.

• Police responded to a hit and run in the 400 block of Warren Avenue. An officer witnessed a vehicle back into another vehicle and then pull away without reporting the incident or stopping to look for damage. The driver was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

Saturday

• A driver’s license was found and returned to its owner.

• Police responded to a civil dispute in the 1000 block of Perry Avenue.

• Police responded to the 300 block of Fuller Avenue for a check of people banging on the door with a shovel. It was discovered a tenant locked himself out. The case was referred to a locksmith.

• Police responded to a false identification complaint in the 400 block of North State Street.

• Officers responded to a noise complaint in the 600 block of Division Street. A party was shut down and the tenant was issued a noise warning.

• Officers responded to an operating while intoxicated complaint at the intersection of State Street and Fuller Avenue. A 69-year-old man was pulled over for driving without headlights. After an investigation, the man was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated.

• Police responded to a civil dispute in city parking lot No. 4. People were having a disagreement as they were leaving for the night. The group of people knew each other, were friends and made up.

Sunday

• Police responded to a civil dispute in the 300 block of Woodward Avenue at 12:43 p.m. There were parking-related issues between two apartments. The issues were resolved for the day and all involved were advised to contact their landlord.

• A 34-year-old woman from Big Rapids was arrested at 9:22 p.m. in the 800 block of North State Street on charges of operating while intoxicated.

• Police responded to the 700 block of Osceola Avenue at 10:06 p.m. for two disorderly women.
