POLICE BLOTTER: Brother makes awkward appearance at sister’s work

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Tuesday and Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.

Tuesday

• At 10:31 a.m., officers responded to a larceny complaint on the 100 block of North Third Avenue. The caller advised he had been keeping his vehicle at his residence until the owner had it towed. The complainant advised he went to the tow company to pick up his vehicle and noticed a speaker box, amplifier and the stereo was missing from the vehicle. The matter remains under investigation.

• Police received a walk-in phone harassment complaint at 1:21 p.m. It remains under investigation.

• Property was found and turned in to officers at 2:09 p.m. at Michigan Avenue and Locust Street. A plastic toolbox, which sits in the back of a pick-up truck, was located on the roadway. There was no identification on the item and placed in the garage at DPS.

• Officers were dispatched to a suspicious situation complaint at 3:43 p.m. on the 200 block of South Michigan. The caller advised her brother had come into the office where she was working. He did not talk to her, but went into the bathroom for approximately 10 minutes and then left.

Wednesday

• At 12:36 a.m., a female was found wandering around a residence on the 400 block of Woodward Avenue. She thought she heard another female screaming. Residents at the house said they just the woman was lurking around the vehicles.
