POLICE BLOTTER: Ex-boyfriend arrested for destroying property, officer helps elderly resident

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Wednesday and Thursday. All calls might not be reported.


• Officers discovered what they believe is methamphetamine and a wallet in the bathroom of a business on the 1200 block of Perry Avenue. The investigation into this matter continues.

• Police took a fraud complaint at DPS.

• Officers received reports of a suicidal woman on the 800 block of Water Tower Road.

• Police were dispatched to a malicious destruction of property and probation violation complaint on the 400 block of West Pine Street. A woman stated her ex-boyfriend broke items in her residence, including her bedroom and closet doors, a DVD holder and picture frames on the wall. The man was lodged on the charges.

• Officers responded to a threats complaint on the 1800 block of Milton Avenue.


• Officers were called to dispatch a deer on the 400 block of Bronson Avenue.

• Police responded to a civil complaint on the 1800 block of Milton.

• Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North State Street for a threats complaint. A man had been trespassed from a business.

• An officer stopped to help an elderly resident chip ice from her sidewalk.

• A traffic stop led to a man being issued an appearance ticket for driving without insurance.
