Police searching for two in counterfeit $100 bill case

BIG RAPIDS — The Big Rapids Department of Public Safety is searching for two men responsible for passing counterfeit $100 bills.

According to Big Rapids Department of Public Safety Detective Brian Miller, officers are looking for two black men in their late teens or early 20s who allegedly passed several counterfeit $100 bills at area businesses on between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

In two of these instances, the man passing the counterfeit bill appeared to be the same person. In the third instance, video surveillance footage obtained from the first two businesses showed the man appeared to get out of the same vehicle as the man from the first two businesses.

The men were seen in footage getting out of a newer model Jeep Grand Cherokee.
