Auction, bake sale to benefit Big Rapids family

BIG RAPIDS — A benefit auction and bake sale is being planned to help the Kenny and Sarah Fuller family of Big Rapids.

The event is scheduled for 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Old Jail, 220 S. Stewart Ave., in Big Rapids.

According to the Fuller Family Benefit Facebook page, Kenny and his three sons, Logan, Ryder and Chase, were involved in a serious car accident on Saturday, April 13. Kenny and Logan were discharged, but Ryder and Chase remained in the intensive care unit, with Chase’s injuries being the most severe.

According to the GoFundMe page set up to help the family with medical expenses, says Kenny suffered bumps, bruises and stitches; Logan had a broken arm and bruised lung; Ryder’s spleen was damaged; and Chase had back surgery on Tuesday to stabilize his spine, but his spinal cord is completely severed.

Organizers are hoping to help the family, as donations of items or services are being sought to be auctioned off. They also are looking for baked goods for the sale.

Organizers will accept items and services for the auction from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the Old Jail. Bake sale items can be dropped off at the Old Jail from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10, and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11.
