Mecosta County officials approve Commission on Aging equipment request

MECOSTA COUNTY — Local officials are continuing efforts to provide quality meals to area seniors.

During the Mecosta County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, June 6, members of the board approved an equipment request from the Commission on Aging for a trailer.

According to the proposal letter, the trailer will be used to sell pies during the Wheatland Music Festival in an effort to raise funds for the senior meals program.

Also during the meeting, commissioners approved:

• County millage rates for the general fund budget;

• Adopting the 2018 financial statements and audit;

• Amending the year-end balance for the housing rehab fund; and

• The 2019 Marine Safety Grant for $11,200.
