Foster excels at hurdles, pole vault for Evart

Richard Foster

EVART – As a hurdler and pole vaulter, Richard Foster got plenty accomplished for the Evart Wildcats in his senior season.

In the 110 hurdles, Foster notched his PR on April 9 with a time of 17.37 seconds. He won this meet and finished second in several others. He got his personal record in the 300 hurdles, 45.21 seconds, in the regional on May 18.

Foster took second place in the pole vault several times this season. He was second at the Highland Conference championship meet at 11-6. He got his personal record of 12-3 in a meet at Cadillac six days later.

This was Foster’s best year in the pole vault.

Working on his form in these events has been critical, Foster indicated.

Foster was hoping to get 13 feet by the end of the season.

I just have to practice harder,” he said.

Foster was also a strong runner during the cross country season for Evart.
