POLICE BLOTTER: Officers respond to domestic, civil disputes

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Tuesday and Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.


• Officers performed a citizen assist at 9:27 a.m. in the 100 block of South Third Avenue.

• At 1:19 p.m., officers performed a department assist.

• At 8:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Second Avenue for a domestic dispute. Investigation led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his wife.


• Officers performed a well-being check in the 100 block of West Madison Street. Everything was fine.

• A traffic stop resulted in a citation being written for no insurance.

• Officers arrested a 36-year-old woman on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop at Woodward Avenue and Green Street.

• A civil dispute was reported in the 400 block of Woodward Avenue. A juvenile male, the son of the woman who was arrested on an outstanding warrant, was seen throwing eggs and dirt on a neighbor’s house.

• Officers responded to a malicious destruction of property complaint in the 900 block of Maple Street.

• Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault, interfering with a 911 call and felony probation violation in the 100 block of West Madison. The victim reported a 23-year-old man assaulted her and tried to take her phone while she was calling 911.
