REED CITY — Reed City’s Local Area Team (LAT) League season ends tonight in a home doubleheader with Marion.

But senior Cassie Enos is continually working at striving to be at her very best when the 2020 season comes around next year.

The 2019 season “started off rockier than we wanted,” she said. “But the more we worked together and bonded, it did get a lot better.”

She said it was her best varsity season, overall. But her hitting wasn’t where she wanted it to be.

Enos played center field for the Coyotes.

“I had a lot of diving catches,” she said. “It seems like I was always on the ground. It’s timing and a sense of urgency. I’ve tried diving in practice but it doesn’t work out. You have to have that urgency in order for it to work well, for me personally any way.”

This summer, Enos has been working to get her hitting back to where she wants it to be.

“My hitting’s not bad but not to the level I want it to be,” she said.

Reed City will end its LAT League summer with a home tournament on July 27. As for the 2020 year, “I think we’re going to have another good season,” Enos said.
