POLICE BLOTTER: 21-year-old man arrested for allegedly assaulting two women

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls from Friday, Aug. 16, to Sunday, Aug. 18. All calls might not be reported.

Friday

• Officers responded to the 700 block of Fuller Avenue for a civil dispute.

• Officers responded to a harassment complaint in the 600 block of Bjornson Street.

• Officers responded to a disorderly person/civil dispute complaint in the 800 block of North State Street for people fighting or arguing. All involved parties had left the scene when officers arrived, and the people still at the scene had not seen what happened. Witnesses reported a possible fight or argument between two women, but neither woman reported the incident or stayed on scene.

• A tenant in the 1100 block of Fuller was issued a noise warning.

Saturday

• Officers responded to the 1300 block of Catherine Street for a harassment complaint.

• A traffic stop resulted in a 38-year-old woman being arrested on a warrant for failing to complete community service.

• Officers were called to the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue for a false ID complaint. A man and woman were issued appearance tickets for having false IDs.

• A man was cited and released for false ID in the 100 block of South Michigan.

• Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 200 block of Hemlock Street. A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting two women.

Sunday

• At 2:04 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of North State for a suspicious activity complaint assist.

• At 9:27 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Maple Street for a civil dispute between a mother and her son regarding use of a moped.
