BIG RAPIDS — Area residents will have the opportunity to find bargains at the 14th annual Big Rapids All-City Yard Sale.

The Big Rapids All-City Yard Sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23, at 210 N. Michigan Ave., south of city hall, next to the farmers’ market.

“The money from the booths go toward programming and events at Artworks,” Artworks volunteer Jeanette Fleury said. “We have 12 vendors this year.”

Two of the 12 vendors are organizations while the rest are private vendors and families.

Along with the chance to browse local sales, the yard sale will be taking place with the same time and location of the Downtown Big Rapids Farmers’ Market, providing opportunities to shop for both produce and products.

“I think it’s very popular,” she said. “It’s a fun day.”

Fleury looks forward to seeing her friends at the sale, as well as hearing from local vendors their successes after the sale is over.

“It takes a lot of work, but it’s a nice, cooperative event,” Fleury said.

The fee for a booth is $20.

For those interested in hosting their own booth, Fleury encourages them to call her at (231) 796-0071 to see if any spots are available.
