Churches announce Holy Week services

OSCEOLA COUNTY — All area churches are hosting special services for the remainder of Holy Week.

Maundy Thursday, April 13

  • 6:30 p.m., Holy Eucharist and Stripping of the Alter, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 435 W. Fifth St., Evart.
  • 7 p.m., Message by Pastor Kathy and sharing of Holy Communion, Reed City United Methodist Church, 503 S. Chestnut St., Reed City.

Good Friday, April 14

  • Noon, Crosswalk led by clergy association to begin at Reed City United Methodist Church and finish at Woodland Cemetery.
  • 6:30 p.m., Good Friday service at Reed City Church of the Nazarene, 5300 220th Ave., Reed City.
  • 6:30 p.m., workshop and Solemn Reproaches, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 435 W. Fifth St., Evart.
  • 7 p.m. Good Friday service with “Listening for God Amidst the Noise” message, Reed City United Methodist Church, 503 S. Chestnut St., Reed City

Easter Sunday, April 16

  • 7 a.m., sunrise service followed by continental breakfast; noon, Easter potluck brunch, includes turkey, ham and drinks, Reed City United Methodist Church, 503 S. Chestnut St., Reed City.
  • 8 a.m., sunrise service followed by breakfast; 9:45 a.m., Sunday School; 11 a.m. worship service at Evart Free Methodist Church, 6151 95th Ave., Evart. There will be no evening worship service.
  • 9 a.m., Easter breakfast; 9:45 Sunday school; 11 a.m. worship service at the LeRoy Covenant Church, located at 201 Cherry St., LeRoy.
  • 10 a.m., Easter worship service, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 435 W. Fifth St., Evart.
  • 10:30 a.m. Easter service at at Big Jackson Church of God, 4001 E. 13 Mile Road, Paris. The service will include special songs of celebration.
  • Easter services with a special Easter play begin at 11 a.m.; Easter dinner open to the public and at no charge begins at 1 p.m. at the Hersey United Methodist Church, located at 200 W. Second St., Hersey
