EVART — Reese Ransom appears set to have another strong season for Evart’s wrestling team this winter.

It’s his sophomore season after a strong freshman campaign.

“Making it to state was a big accomplishment,” he said.

Ransom didn’t win any matches but qualifying for the state finals was a grand moment for him.

His No. 1 goal is to return to the state tournament and place in the top eight for a medal.

“I’ll just have to work harder in the practice room,” Ransom said.

Last season, he was at 125 pounds at the end of year.

This year, he’s at 152, but he’s hoping to get down to 145.

“I think 145 looks a little bit easier,” he said.

in his first seven matches, Ransom started out 5-2.
