REED CITY — Mason Bush is ready to go from a Coyote to a Scot.

Bush was among the six Reed City football players to sign national letters of intent with college football programs on Feb. 6.

Bush will be going to Alma College. He played linebacker for Reed City and had 61 tackles with 12 for losses, two fumble recoveries, three sacks and one interception. He earned first team all-CSAA honors.

“I love the connection I had with (Alma),” he said. “When I first showed up, they were very supportive. They worked with me until I finally made the decision. I was looking at Olivet at first. I decided to see which one was right with me. I felt Alma was a better connection.”

He plans to study physical education or special education at Alma.

“The coaches and everything at Reed City prepared me for the school work and being on the field,” Bush said. “A lot of teachers family and friends got me through it all.”

He enjoyed signing a college letter with five other teammates.

“It’s amazing,” Bush said. “It’s great to sign with my best pals, further our education and still play football.”
