Pheasants forever banquet a success

Mark Sochocki

BIG RAPIDS — The Mecosta-Osceola Pheasants Forever banquet at the Holiday Inn on March 16 was expected, by chapter chairman Mark Sochocki, of Evart, to be a successful one.

It was.

This year, it was the 25th annual local chapter Pheasants Forever event.

“We had our biggest one ever,” Sochocki said. “We had almost 350 people. It continues to grow. We gave away 52 guns. Our national representative (Bill Vander Zouwen) was there and handed us an award for our 25th anniversary.

“He also gave us an award for doing the most pollinator habitat in the state of Michigan for a Pheasants Forever chapter last year. We did more acreage wise and development for pollinator habitat than any other chapter.”

Among the top prizes was a 25th anniversary Browning 5 Gun Raffle.
