Soccer coach busy with open fields

Chris Maddox

REED CITY — New Reed City soccer coach Chris Maddox was busy on Monday night with another open field for his players.

“We’ll do some warmup stuff and conditioning drills,” he said. “We’ve had open fields every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tonight is the last night of it. Then we’re giving the boys a break until Aug. 12, the first day of practice.”

There were nine at Monday’s workout on the Coyote practice field

It’s been a productive summer for the next coach.

“We had a scrimmage last week and that went really well,” Maddox said.

“I was proud of what we learned and we were able to put it to use.”

The first scheduled game is Sept. 21 at Shelby.

Home contests are set for Aug. 26 with Hart and Aug. 27 with Grant in CSAA action.
